This year’s Canada Day event will be bigger & better than ever! It being organized through the collaboration of volunteers from local service clubs, including the Fernie Lions Club, Fernie Rotary Club, Fernie Legion, Fernie Elks Lodge, Mountain Market and the 3300 Club, in partnership with the City of Fernie and the Yaq̓itʔa·knuqⱡi‘it Community.
The celebration will take place in downtown Fernie, encompassing 2nd Avenue and the City Hall grounds. Our objective is to celebrate Canada Day with a community-focused event that offers engaging activities for all ages, strengthens local partnerships, and highlights the diversity of our community.
The event will kick off around 10:30 AM in front of City Hall (following a pancake breakfast from 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM at the Senior’s Centre) with a flag raising, land acknowledgement, O Canada sung by the Fernie Community Choir, and cupcakes. It will wrap up with our last stage performance, which will start around 5:00 PM and end about 6:00 PM.
